GENERAL INFORMATION

John & Lois Stivens have been at “Blue Haven” since 1965. They established their Poll Dorset stud in 1984, and became a member of the Poll Dorset stud in 1984, and became a member of the Poll Dorset Association in the same year. Both John & Lois have been actively involved with the Australian Poll Dorset Association and John recently held the position of State President for 2 years. He is registered as a State Judge and an Inspector for the Poll Dorset Association at Melbourne Royal Shows and Bendigo Australian Sheep Breeders Shows at Bendigo each year. “Blue Haven” Poll Dorset prime lambs consistently top prices at market sales, particularly those of Corowa and Yarrawonga - two of the largest sales in Northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales.

Show results also indicate the quality of breeding at “Blue Haven”, with stud sheep winning both ribbons and praise. One judge described “Blue Haven” Poll Dorsets as “Ideal stud and commercial sheep with their long, lean tall structure, and impressive “Stock Scan” figures.
