Bruan Poll Dorsets are situated in the south west Victorian corner between
Hamilton and Heywood 10 kms west of the Henty Highway.

Bruan Poll Dorsets are run under commercial conditions along side our
commercial first cross ewe and beef cattle enterprise on approximately
500 ha.
3500 first cross ewes are joined annually using new genetics sourced
from our stud ram lambs and lambed down in July and August. Selling of
lambs starts in December with heavy suckers and trades, carry over lambs
that do not meet the grid are shorn mid January and placed on a summer
crop and/or in our property based feedlot. Feedlot lambs are turned off
in the shortest possible time -4 to 5 weeks - with average daily weight
gains of 350 to 500 grams per day. The majority of the lamb drop is hooked
with averages over the last four years for suckers 21.8 kg and shorn lambs
22.5 kg. The beef cattle enterprise consists of F1 cattle and vealers
are turned off before 12 months of age.
