The Gloroy Stud of R.E. Harris was founded in 1956 and firmly established with the purchase of seventeen Lindsbury rams between 1962 and 1974, and continues to breed top quality Poll Dorsets today for stud and prime lamb sires.

We have exhibited many champions including Champion Ewe at the Melbourne Royal Show (largest Poll Dorset show in the world) on a record six occasions, and Champion Ram at the Melbourne Royal twice in the last three years.

To continue providing quality rams with exceptional size, length and muscle, we use a number of sires to cater for all breeders’ requirements. All Gloroy sheep are Lambplan tested to assess their performance and provide breeders with a tool for selecting the best sires for their flocks.

As well as sales to many studs around Australia, we have exported semen to England and New Zealand, and sheep to China. We have semen of some of our top sires for sale.

 

LOCATION

Newbridge is 45km from Bendigo on the Bendigo–St Arnaud road, and Gloroy is on the left, 6km from Newbridge on the Newbridge–Laanecoorie road on the west side of the Loddon river.
